Sabbie Miller is the Faculty Director of the UC Davis Materials Decarbonization and Sustainability Center and an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Her research is dedicated to advancing the sustainability of the built environment through the development and optimization of infrastructure materials. The Miller research group emphasizes the design of sustainable materials with a focus on reducing the environmental impacts associated with their use. Dr. Miller’s research primarily involves cementitious materials, bio-derived materials, and polymers, with the aim of tailoring these materials to achieve desired characteristics while minimizing their environmental footprint. Through a combination of experimental and analytical approaches, her team seeks to improve the performance and sustainability of materials essential to modern infrastructure.

Dr. Miller earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2008, followed by both her Master of Science (2010) and Doctor of Philosophy (2014) from Stanford University.
